Governance framework in development

Certification Trust

Governance, Impartiality & Policies

The essential controls, responsibilities and public documents supporting fair and defensible professional certification.

Governance Model

Clear authority and controlled decisions.

Polaris Micro LLC owns and maintains the certification schemes and retains legal and operational responsibility for certification decisions delivered through Polaris Micro Institute. The governance model being developed separates scheme ownership, Certification Council approval and Scheme Committee recommendations.

Polaris Micro LLC

The scheme owner and issuer retains responsibility for examination operations, individual certification decisions, credential status and implementation of approved scheme requirements.

SCHEME APPROVAL

Certification Council

Under the proposed governance model, the Council reviews and formally approves scheme requirements, the Body of Knowledge, examination blueprint, maintenance requirements and material scheme changes before implementation.

TECHNICAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Scheme Committee

The Committee develops and reviews technical scheme content and recommends requirements and changes to the Certification Council. Recommendations do not constitute formal approval or an individual certification decision.

AIGRAP governance remains in development. These proposed responsibilities remain subject to formal adoption; this description does not claim that Council approval or Committee review has already occurred.

Impartiality

Training does not control certification.

Commercial, training and partner relationships must not compromise examination outcomes or certification decisions.

01

Role separation

Training delivery and certification authority have distinct responsibilities.

02

Conflict controls

Actual and potential conflicts of interest are identified and managed.

03

Fair treatment

Requirements are applied consistently without improper influence.

04

Independent decisions

ATPs and instructors do not award or withdraw Polaris credentials.

Certification Integrity

Controls across the credential lifecycle.

The framework is being developed to support secure assessment, reliable records and responsible credential use. Certification schemes will be periodically reviewed for technical relevance and governance quality.

  • Candidate identity and eligibility checks
  • Controlled examination development
  • Secure delivery and proctoring
  • Documented certification decisions
  • Credential status and verification
  • Confidentiality and records protection
  • Continuing competence and renewal
  • Misuse investigation and corrective action

Candidate Rights

Complaints and appeals remain separate.

Formal certification matters will use dedicated controlled routes, separate from commercial or training enquiries. These submission channels will be activated with the approved procedures.

COMPLAINTS

Service or conduct concerns

A formal route for concerns about certification activities, services, processes or relevant conduct.

APPEALS

Eligible certification decisions

A formal route for requesting review of an eligible decision under the approved appeals procedure.

Pre launch status: Dedicated complaint and appeal submission channels are coming soon. Submitting a complaint or appeal will not result in discriminatory action.
